Over 20,000 Immigrants Helped Since 2021
Since January 2021, LaAID has helped over 20,000 immigrants connected to detention centers in Louisiana and Mississippi. Our volunteer network provides practical support for detained and released immigrants, including transportation, hosting, meals, ticket assistance, visitation, and medical advocacy.
LaAID has volunteer groups in Lafayette, Alexandria, Shreveport, Monroe, Ruston, Baton Rouge, and Natchez, Mississippi. We also partner with immigrant rights organizations in New Orleans to help respond to urgent needs.
